Our Story

De Hoek Country Lodge is a Rustic Wedding Venue with accommodation perfectly situated just outside of Heidelberg Gauteng, near to the N3. The farm was originally owned by the Moolman family who then sold it to Karen van Heerden. Karen felt that the farm was too beautiful not to share and decided to establish “De Hoek Country Lodge”. Karen and her family ran this successful operation for many years. We are very excited to announce that we are now under new management and we strive to continue the amazing work that Karen started all those years ago.

In addition to the wedding venue and accommodation, De Hoek Country Lodge is a fully functioning farm with cattle and crops.

Our farm is split across a sand road with the wedding venue, accommodation and farming operation on one side of the road, and on the other side, it hosts a large “White House” which is used for accommodation for wedding guests.

This house boasts 7 en-suite bedrooms, a lounge dining room and a fully functional kitchen. It also has a separate small round rondavel which will sleep two. In addition, this house is used for Bachelor Parties and is often booked out for long term stays such as missionaries who run outreach programmes. On this side of the farm, we have wildlife such as Eland, Springbok, Impala, Blesbok and our new addition Sable Antelope.
